Charity, compassion, caring… It’s nothing new, but so very important.
When we were little our parents taught us the importance of sharing. Growing up we learned compassion, the concept of charity is all around us. The human race, by nature and design, IS charitable, it’s nothing new. In charity we help others and in return we help ourselves. I don’t think I have to explain.
There is a need to continue charity outside the borders of the United States of America, arguably the MOST charitable nation in the world. There is so much need both in and out of the USA, all around the world, but I’d like to share with you the needs of one small school, on one small caribbean island in our great big world.
This is Vieux-Fort Comprehensive Secondary School in Southern St. Lucia. Pirates & Paradise visited there in April 2018. Barefoot Times Travel and Pirates & Paradise has adopted the school with the goal of rebuilding the “cottage” building. This building houses 4 classrooms which are used on a daily basis. Can you imagine? It would likely be condemned here at home.
This is a message from the principal there:
“Greetings,
I wish to thank you for your interest and promise to assist the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School located in the south of Saint Lucia.
We are indeed excited and grateful at the thought of getting assistance with this much needed initiative.”
Regards,
Elicious Cyril (Mr.)
